Chief Investment Officer
Griff Williams is Chief Investment Officer for Viresco’s Queensland Farmland Fund, leading investment strategy and oversight for sustainable beef production assets. A co-founder of Viresco Group, Griff brings 30 years’ experience across fund management in the UK, New Zealand and Latin America, alongside first hand farm ownership. Raised on a multi-generation family farm in Taranaki, he has also farmed in the Waikato for 25 years across dairy, sheep and beef systems-grounding his investment approach in practical production realities.
Griff’s investment career includes managing private and public equity portfolios at Railpen Investments (UK), Westpac Investment Management (New Zealand) and Banco Bozano Simonsen (Brazil). In 2015, he co-founded Milltrust Agricultural Investments, where he helped establish institutional farmland funds across the southern hemisphere and a venture fund focused on UK university spinouts; MAI was acquired by Future Planet Capital in November 2021. He has also served as a founding non-executive director and board representative for fund investments across the UK, Australia and New Zealand, including nine years on the board of Roslin Technologies, created to commercialise intellectual property from the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh.
